Magical Complicated is about the extremes of being in love whether it’s with multiple people or just one person. The symbiotic relationship that passion has with chill is fascinating. I find the comfortable blues to be as necessary as the passionate throws. The connection points in these two moods are deeply important to the full human experience. The song co-produced with PRNDL, starts off as a groovy chill-hop vibe that melds into another world of salsa, instrumental improvisation and the deep roots Mahealane has in multilingual singing and latin jazz through artists like Chick Corea, Dizzy Gillespie and Astrud Gilberto.
